Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen” (Mt. 28:16-20).
When Jesus Christ gave orders to the eleven remaining apostles on a mountain in Galilee regarding the spiritual conquest of the whole earth, the first thing that He did was to declare the foundation for this mission. The imperatives of the Great Commission are based on the fact that Jesus Christ has received all authority. Christ’s reception of “all authority” is emphasized in the original language. The verb is in the emphatic position: “Given to Me was all authority,"Schwertley.
The goal of Gospeltimes Ministries is to help achieve the "Great Commission." God has given Brother Y ancey the vision to achieve this goal in the following: radio, television, audio, video, certified classes for ministers, believers, and churches.The objective is to reach individuals and congregations through several genres including music,sermons and sound Bible Education.We also believe in the "indigenous" Church concept.In modern times, an "indigenous" Church is commonly thought to be one that meets the "three selfs" ideals - namely, "self-governing, self-supporting and self-propagating".It is a church with sound doctrine that we can work with in each city,state and nation in the world. The greatest threat to the Christian Church is "syncretism."This is an attempt to undermine ,distort or omit scripture that does not support social and cultural trends in a given society.Scripture is very clear on issues facing society today; we just find them hard to accept!
We will provide a spiritual counseling feature on our website soon to free the captives.Regional, national and international revivals will still remain a central focus of the ministry..This fall we will began web casting Sunday Morning Services through agreements with radio stations all over the country.By 2009,we plan to have a ministry partner in all the seven continents of the world.We plan to have a revival in each continent that same year!At the present time,we are reaching 35,000 viewers from 100 nations around the world!!
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
1.The church is an elect company of believers baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body, each believer living his life in the power of the Holy Spirit; its mission being to witness concerning its Head, Jesus Christ, and teach and preach the gospel among all nations.
2.The entire program of Christian training is evangelical. It finds its reason for being, and its goal, in bringing the individual to a personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, in helping the Christian grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord, and in equipping Christians for more effective service.
3.The Bible is the inspired, infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)
4.There is one God, eternally existent in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)
5.We believe in the deity of Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23, Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, Hebrews 7:26), His miracles (John 2:11), His vicarious and atoning death (1 Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7, Hebrews 2:9), His resurrection (John 11:25, 1 Corinthians 15:4), His ascension to the right hand of God (Mark 16:19), His personal return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11)
6.We believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that we are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace and through faith alone we are saved. (John 3:16–19, John 5:24, Romans 3:23, Romans 5:8–9, Ephesians 2:8–10, Titus 3:5)
7.We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 8:9, 1 Corinthians 12:12–13, Galatians 3:26–28)
8.We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. (Romans 8:13–14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, Ephesians 4:30, Ephesians 5:18)
MUSIC MINISTRY
The Gospel Inspirations is a music ministry of Gospel Times Ministries (GTM). Brother Yancey started the group when he was fifteen .Minister Barbara Akins Yancey helped the group and ministry for several years.She is now associate pastor of Shady Hill Baptist Church in Roxboro,Nc.
CERTIFICATIONS
Brother Yancey is a Certified Christian Coordinators, Teachers,Counselor, and CEU Providers in Professional and Biblical Studies for the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)as well as for the Christian Schools International (CSI). He is certified by the Evangelical Training Association (ETA) to teach ALL Church Ministries Courses, including Leadership in Church Ministries.He is a certified minister by the Berean School of the Bible.He is also certfied in Christian Education by the New Life Theological School of the Church of God in Christ International.He is a certified Chess Expert by the United State Chess Federation and has integrated chess theory with Systematic Theology in sermon proof theory and logic.Rev. MEET BROTHER YANCEY!
^Rev.Dr. Yancey is an accomplished guitarist, an authority on The History of Gospel Music, The first African-American, United States Chess Federation Expert from North Carolina,taught chess at the Duke University Center for Learning in Retirement, and he has published a book "How To Teach Chess in the Public Schools and in Christian Schools." Rev. Dr. Esco Yancey, Jr., a licensed, ordained minister,Berean School of the Bible Certified Minister, Harvard University certificate in Spirituality and Healing, diagnostic reading University Phoenix,holds a bachelor's degree in history from St. Augustine's College,a master's degree in crisis counseling, a master's certification in education administration,master's certification in vocational education from North Carolina Central University,ed specialist in Christian counseling from North Carolina State University(ACSI),and a doctorate in education from Califorina Coast University.Dissertation explored"The Effectiveness of Private and Christian Schools Versus the Effectiveness of Public Schools in America."CCU is accredited by the Distancec Education and Training Council which is recognized by the US Department of Education .DETC's scope of authority extends from the associate up to and including the professional doctorate degree. He is also a world-class gourmet cook. He learned this art when he was a young college student working at the Carolina Country Club. He has traveled the country researching food styles. Today, his style is patterned after the French Master Chef Aguste Escoiffier. Chef Yancey is now collaborating with Chef Jr.Dailey of the Stratford Inn, 2136 Riverside Drive,Danville,Va 24540.
